FLY project has been designed since the beginning to be a top level machining site with:

• excellent machine tools (with N°6  PIETRO CARNAGHI Turn-Mill Vertical Lathes);
• top class coordinate measuring machines (n°1 DEA CMM);
• 5 axis milling and drilling, ideal for finishing complex parts;
• air conditioning for stable machining conditions in the 5000 sqm shopfloor;
• excellent plants for low maintenance costs;
• house-keeping and transportation stringent procedures;
• skilled, trained and committed human resources.

The main markets for FLY products are:

• Gas and steam turbines
• Nuclear power
• Aeronautics (both Aero engines and Aero structures)
• Aerospace (Space launchers)
• Chemical reactors (Using corrosion resistant Alloys)
• Deep water equipment (Using duplex and super duplex).

For these medium and large-sized components (diameters of 400 to 4000 mm inclusive), the mechanical finishing combined to superficial treatments and non-destructive controls are particularly demanding and complex.

FLY integrates coordinate measuring as an additional service pre and post-machining and, when necessary, can offer feedbacks to the forging engineering.

FLY will provide products and services to  OEMs (ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT MANUFACTURERs) for complete, finished parts, as well as  to Subcontractors.
